Vintage Old Mid Century Spooky Halloween Pumpkin Jack O Lantern Oil Painting
This is a wonderful and unusual Antique Vintage Old Mid Century Spooky Halloween Pumpkin Jack O Lantern Oil Painting on artist board, depicting a still like scene of a Jack-O-Lantern, uncarved pumpkin, and a persimmon or pomegranate in the foreground. The Jack-O-Lantern is well detailed and particularly disturbing, and a general Halloween subject matter is very rare for a Mid Century oil painting. After 10 years of dealing in art, this is my first vintage painting of a Jack-O-Lantern.
Signed illegibly and dated:'61 in the lower right corner. I cannot read the signature, but perhaps you recognize the artist or their work? Approximately 19 x 23 inches including frame.
Actual artwork is approximately 15 3/4 x 19 3/4 inches. Very good condition, with some light scuffing and edge wear to the original period gilded frame.
An annotation on the verso reads: Victor Doyle Gallery / Signed. Industry City (City of Industry) Dated: 61.
